Coldeye Air Quality Sensor

Air quality is currently being researched as an environmental factor in maintaining reptile and amphibian health. It has already been understood to be of key importance to avians - owners shouldn't use non-stick pans for example due to the gas released when the pans get too hot. Little is understood as to how certain airborne compounds affect exotic pets' health, but removing them improves health and can help reduce the frequency of illnesses. But to be able to remove them you first need to be able to identify their presence.

And so we are proud to release our Air Quality Sensor. It accurately measures various environmental parameters, such as particulate matter, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), and oxidising gases, such as nitrogen oxides. From the research mentioned, we at Coldeye believe this will be the next key metric to track to better care for all our exotic pets.

Please note, you cannot use a Coldeye sensor, meter or peripheral without a Hub.

Product Description

When caring for exotic pets, ensuring the cleanliness and quality of the air within their habitats is crucial yet often overlooked. Recent scientific research increasingly highlights the significant impact airborne pollutants can have on the health of exotic animals, including reptiles, amphibians, birds, and small mammals. Recognising this critical aspect of pet care, Coldeye proudly introduces our state-of-the-art Air Quality Sensor, providing precise, real-time insights into the hidden aspects of your pets' environment.

Designed to elevate standards in animal husbandry, our Air Quality Sensor accurately measures essential air quality parameters, including particulate matter (PM), volatile organic compounds (VOCs), and oxidising gases such as nitrogen oxides. By providing detailed visibility into these key environmental factors, the sensor empowers pet owners and professionals alike to proactively maintain safer, cleaner air - reducing the frequency of respiratory issues, unexplained illnesses, and chronic health problems that can afflict exotic animals living in suboptimal conditions.

The Coldeye Air Quality Sensor is thoughtfully engineered for maximum precision and reliability. It measures particle sizes from 0.3μm to 10μm, offering a detailed assessment of airborne particles that are invisible to the naked eye yet significantly impact pet health. The sensor's extensive measurement range (0-1000μg/m³) ensures comprehensive monitoring, capturing even subtle fluctuations in air quality and alerting you instantly if conditions deteriorate.

Additionally, our Air Quality Sensor features advanced VOC detection, tracking levels from 1 to 500 index points. VOCs, commonly emitted from household products like cleaning solutions, paints, and even certain heating elements (such as non-stick cookware), pose known risks, particularly for avian and sensitive reptilian species. With Coldeye, identifying and mitigating these hidden threats becomes effortless, providing a cleaner, safer habitat for your pets.

Versatile and robust, the sensor measures a compact 90mm x 50mm x 30mm and can be seamlessly integrated into any exotic pet environment. It is powered by an external 5V-compatible USB-C supply, ensuring continuous, uninterrupted monitoring. Installation is straightforward: simply mount the sensor inside wooden or PVC vivaria using convenient M3 screws, or place it atop mesh lids on glass enclosures without any additional fixings. To guarantee optimal performance, it's recommended that the sensor is positioned away from direct heat sources, intense light, or excessive humidity (above 90%RH), and that it isn't directly exposed to sprays or moisture.

With built-in temperature and humidity measurements (rated from -10°C to 50°C), the sensor provides additional environmental insights, ensuring comprehensive data capture for enhanced habitat management. By monitoring these parameters alongside air quality, the Coldeye Air Quality Sensor gives you an extensive environmental profile, enabling proactive and informed decision-making regarding your pet’s care.

The Coldeye Air Quality Sensor seamlessly integrates with your Coldeye Hub, instantly transmitting detailed air quality data to the intuitive Coldeye app. Real-time alerts notify you immediately if air quality deteriorates, allowing swift action to prevent health complications. Whether you're a private enthusiast with a single enclosure or a professional managing multiple habitats across pet stores, breeding centres, zoos, or research facilities, this advanced monitoring capability transforms how effectively and easily you can safeguard animal welfare.

Coldeye is deeply committed to innovation, precision, and animal well-being. Our Air Quality Sensor reflects this dedication, providing essential insights that drive higher standards of care, reduce veterinary visits, and ultimately enhance the quality of life for your exotic pets.

Choose the Coldeye Air Quality Sensor and give your exotic animals the clean, safe, and healthy environment they deserve. Trust in precision, reliability, and proactive care - only with Coldeye.
